THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The judgment is a resounding vindication of CPM’s stand that Lavalin case was a politically motivated case, said CPM politburo.

In a statement issued, the PB said the case was sought to be used to besmirch the image of the CPM leader and the party. The High Court verdict has effectively exposed these efforts.

“The High Court has stated that Pinarayi Vijayan was deliberately targeted by the CBI. The court has comprehensively debunked all allegations levelled against him,” said the statement.

The verdict has vindicated the CPM stand that the case is politically motivated, said party general secretary Sitaram Yechury. Welcoming the verdict, Yechury said the party has fought the case legally and politically. Now with the verdict, it has been proved the allegations against Pinarayi are baseless.
