The CBI took over the investigation into the case related to the rape and murder of a woman doctor at the RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, officials said. This comes after the Calcutta High Court directed the probe to be handed over to CBI saying that there has been "no significant progress in the investigation" carried out by the state police.
