Historic: India's first underwater metro in Kolkata conducts test run

In a first for the country, Kolkata Metro created history by running the rake through a tunnel under Hooghly river. The Metro rake undertook its maiden journey from Howrah Maidan to Esplanade. The Metro is expected to cover the 520 meters stretch under the river Hooghly in 45 seconds.
