Manipur violence: Two killed, six injured in firing by suspected militants

Fresh violence broke out in Koutruk area, Imphal West, Manipur around 2:30 pm on September 1st. Militants reportedly carried out a "drone bombing." The militants had started firing indiscriminately from hilltops to the low-lying valley areas of Koutruk and neighbouring Kadangband from Sunday afternoon and managed to reach the outskirts of Koutruk village, a senior officer said.
