KFC Denies Allegations of Serving Fly Eggs in Its Popcorn Chicken

KFC has denied the allegations by a customer finding fly eggs embedded in popcorn chicken.

Sarah-Jane Williams residing in Auckland, New Zealand visited a KFC restaurant for lunch and reportedly found large clump of fly eggs embedded inside the small chunks of bone-less meat.

After the incident, she took to social media to post the picture of the popcorn chicken containing the eggs which were ready to hatch into maggots. She wrote, "This is what I just got from KFC pukekohe. I won’t be going back there in a while."

However KFC denied the allegations saying, "This news is from Auckland, New Zealand and, the team there is investigating the matter to ascertain facts, while working with local authorities. In fact, the Auckland City Council inspectors visited the store and have stated that it is very unlikely that the alleged incident occurred at the store. KFC globally is committed to following the best international standards and serving the highest quality products to all our customers across all our restaurants. We are confident of our stringent processes on food safety and we are positive that such incidents cannot happen."
