India reported 86,432 new positive cases and 1,089 deaths in the last 24-hours, as per the data shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.

With this rise of over 80,000 cases for third consecutive day, coronavirus tally in the country now stands at 40,23,179 including 8,46,395 active cases, 31,07,223 cured/discharged/migrated and 69,561 death.

The number of total COVID-19 cases in India surpassed the 40 lakh-mark as states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka continue to record high cases.

  • No physical offerings like prasad, distribution or sprinkling of holy water will be allowed inside the religious place
  • Touching statues, idols and holy books will also not be allowed
  • Preferably, separate entry and exit for devotees will be arranged while maintaining physical distance of minimum six feet at all times
  • Specific markings may be made with sufficient distance to manage the queue and ensure physical distancing in the premises
  • The devotees will wear masks and wash their hands and feet with soap and water before entering the premises
  • Shoes and other footwear should be preferably taken off inside their own vehicles
  • In case of a suspect or confirmed case in the premises, the ill person should be isolated in a separate room from others till examination by a competent doctor.
  • The premises will be disinfected if the person is found positive for COVID-19
  • Langars at religious places should follow physical distancing norms while preparing and distributing it
  • People who are above 65 years, persons with comorbidities, pregnant women and children below 10 years are advised to stay at home

    Karnataka to soon reach goal of 1 lakh tests per day: Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar

    Karnataka will soon reach its goal of conducting one lakh COVID-19 tests per day as it has increased the number of labs and the tests done, Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar said here on Saturday. "From one testing lab for COVID-19 test, we have opened 108 labs in six months. From 300 tests per day, we have increased it to 75,000. This will soon reach the goal of one lakh tests per day," Sudhakar was quoted as saying.

    Noida: 213 new COVID-19 cases, records biggest single-day spike

    Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar on Saturday recorded its highest single-day spike of 213 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally to 8,686, official data showed. The number of active coronavirus cases reached 1,299, up from 1,188 on Friday, 1,163 on Thursday, 1,114 on Wednesday, 1,067 on Tuesday, 1,055 on Monday and 1,009 on Sunday, according to data released by the Uttar Pradesh Health Department for a 24-hour period.

    Tripura reports record 691 new COVID-19 cases, 7 deaths

    Tripura registered its highest single-day spike of 691 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, which pushed the tally in the northeastern state to 14,527, a health department official said. The death toll rose to 136 after seven more people succumbed to the infection, he said.

    'The Railways will run 40 pairs of new special trains from September 12. The reservation for these will begin from September 10,' said Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav.

    Aligarh district court closed after three employees test positive

    Himachal Pradesh reports three more deaths and 22 fresh cases

    Three more people succumbed to coronavirus in Himachal Pradesh, taking the death toll to 52 on Saturday while 22 fresh cases pushed the state's infection tally to 6,852, according to the Health Department. One death each was reported from Una, Kangra and Mandi, as per data issued by the department on Saturday afternoon.

    District administration to increase beds in Maharashtra's Latur

    Considering the coronavirus spread in rural areas, the local administration in Maharashtra's Latur district plans to increase the number of oxygen-fitted beds at treatment facilities. Private hospitals in rural areas may also be roped in to cater to COVID-19 patients, district collector G Shreekant said on Friday night.
