VISAKHAPATNAM: In yet another case of harassment for love, a boy slashed a girl’s throat with blade at an Internet cafe at Seethampeta in the city today after she refused to reciprocate his love.

Praveen of Anakapalle had been mentally harassing the girl Y Sirisha, a resident of Allipuram in the city, from the past one year. Sirisha is pursuing final year engineering at Sri Prakash Engineering College at Tuni, East Godavari district. The accused also studied in the same college and completed engineering this year.

Around 3 pm today, Praveen went to an Internet centre in Seethampeta where the girl was browsing. He slashed the girl’s throat and escaped. When the injured girl shouted for help, a few people called up the ambulance service and shifted her to a hospital at Dondaparti in the city.
