BANGALORE: Ashwath Narayan CN, MLA, Malleswaram, is all set to represent India at the 20th new generation seminar that will be held between September 26 and October 10 at Honalulu (Hawaii,US), Okinawa (Japan), Tokyo (Japan) and Seoul(South Korea) on the subject 'Asia Pacific Security and the US Role'. He will also be presenting a paper on 'Equitable Development in Karnataka'. The programme will provide Asia Pacific and US leaders an opportunity to better understand security dynamics in the Asia Pacific region and to discuss the future of the US role. Leaders and policymakers in the seminar will explore these issues through visits to Okinawa, Tokyo and Seoul for discussions with government and military officials, academic experts, community leaders and policymakers and by exploring on the ground attitudes and circumstances.
There will be eight participants from Asia and four from the United States. The programme seeks to engage communicators and leaders, those individuals who are in a position to shape and influence the views of others.
Each year, the EastWest Center (EWC) identifies participants from the United States and Asia Pacific for this twoweek intensive educational and dialogue programme developed around a thematic focus. The purpose is to help create a betterinformed younger generation of leaders who have a greater understanding of regional issues and challenges.
