Amritpal Singh surrenders to Punjab police; cops claim to have arrested him

Amritpal Singh, who had been on the run since March 18, surrendered before Punjab police in Moga. He has been arrested by the police and taken to the central jail in Assam's Dibrugarh. Amritpal's arrest comes days after his close aide Papalpreet Singh was arrested.

Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh was seen on CCTV camera leaving the home of a woman in Haryana who had sheltered him while he was fleeing from the police on March 20. The footage shows the wanted Khalistani leader, carrying an umbrella to hide his face, leaving the house in a white shirt and dark blue jeans.The timestamp on the footage shows Monday, two days after the police moved in to arrest him in Punjab.

Severe cold grips north India, temp drops to -4.7* Celsius in Rajasthan's Sikar

Cold wave conditions once again gripped northwest India on January 15. Many parts of Rajasthan record a minimum temperature in the range of 1-3°C . While Fatehpur in Sikar dist. of Rajasthan recorded a minimum temperature of -4.7°C . It was the lowest minimum temperature over the plains of northwest India. Delhi’s Safdarjung observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 4.7°C.

Northern states continue to reel under cold wave; Delhi records 1.8°C at Aya Nagar

Cold conditions continued to prevail in northern states with min temperatures remaining below normal. Delhi continues to reel under a severe cold wave, with temperatures dropping to a numbing 1.8°C. The max temperatures in Haryana and Punjab, including Chandigarh, have dropped sharply, settling between 11°C and 15°C.

A cop has been suspended after he “accidentally” shot a person working at a mobile repair shop on Oct 19. Police have recovered the CCTV footage of the incident. In the CCTV footage, the policeman can be spotted at a mobile shop. He pulls out his gun and shows it to a man standing beside him and another person sitting across the counter at the mobile shop. During this, he allegedly "misfired" at the victim, who was working in the mobile shop.

Punjab CM Mann falls ill after drinking water from holy rivulet Kali Bein; hospitalised & discharged

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been discharged two days after he complained of abdominal discomfort. Three days before the incident, the CM had a glass of water directly from Kali Bein, a holy rivulet in Sultanpur Lodhi. Mann was admitted to Apollo Indraprastha Hospital at Sarita Vihar in the national capital on Wednesday and discharged on Thursday.
