While it’s convenient to live in apartment complexes for their shared amenities and safety, management of these is a challenge.
“ApnaComplex, a Bengaluru-based startup, has launched its Collection Gateway in collaboration with Yes Bank to make society accounting easy. In addition to this, the company has also launched a Gatekeeper technology, a community security solution that regulates visitors,” said Raja Sekhar Kommu, its co-founder.
ApnaComplex was founded by Raja Sekhar Kommu and Gokul Singh as a bootstrapped company where the founders invested around Rs 70 lakh. It had also raised seed fund from a High Networth Individual for another Rs 75 lakh. It is now enroute to raising $2 million to widen its footprint.
The company has over 8,000 complexes across the country. It is currently present in Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, National Capital Region and Chennai. It has offices across over 20 cities. It charges at the rate of Rs 25 or more a month based on the packages the apartments may have opted for. The Collection Gateway will provide solution for housing societies that grapple with suspense accounts as they are unable to match the entries for payments against unit numbers.
ApnaComplex has tied up with Yes Bank which offers a virtual bank account for every flat through which all utility bills can be paid.

“This comes as the ApnaComplex package itself with a tieup with Yes Bank. This is cost-effective compared to paying maintenance dues via credit card/debit card,’’ says Kommu. Another innovation in this package is ApnaComplex Gatekeeper - a community security solution. By design, gated communities and apartments are expected to offer better security.
