BANGALORE: Now, you can access information on any topic from the internet in your own Kannada, as the state government on Saturday launched the Kannada wikipedia called 'Kanaja,' which can be accessed at www.kanaja.in.

Launching the portal, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa said Karnataka was the first state in the country to have an electronic encyclopaedia in the local language.

The site has scope for loading at least 1.30 crore articles on various issues and the government has kept aside Rs 2 crore for the purpose, he added.

The portal has been developed by the Karnataka Knowledge Commission in association with the Kannada Development Authority and the Kannada, Culture and Information Department. Commission chairman Kasturiranagan was present.
