BANGALORE: Police are still clueless about the person, introducing himself as Jayaram, who had called and threatened Kannada film star Amulya of ‘Cheluvina Chittara’ fame.

Amulya and her brother Deepak again received threat calls on Wednesday from the miscreant. On Friday also they got the calls.

A case had been booked at Vyalikaval police station on Wednesday. Police are trying to nab the accused, who is believed to have made the calls from coin booths in and around the city and also from Chennai. A police team which went to Chennai returned without a clue, as the miscreant called from a coin booth.

Police suspect Jayaram, who had cheered Amulya during the 100th day celebration of 'Cheluvina Chittara', behind the calls. People had seen a tattoo of Amulya’s name on his hand. Incidentally, the caller also mentioned to Amulya that he has a tattoo of her name.

After the case was registered, the miscreant is said to have written some words on a wall in front of Amulya’s house, declaring his love for her, police said.

DCP (Central) Dr G Ramesh told Express that efforts were on to trace the accused.

He will be arrested soon, he said.

On the morning of November 9, Amulya and Deepak had noticed Amulya’s name written near their house, using coconut shells, stones and brick pieces.

On December 6, Deepak received a call on his mobile phone from Jayaram, who told Deepak that the November 9 act was done at his behest by his friend Brahma.

The caller also said that he loved Amulya and wants to kill the brother-sister duo. Jayaram also told Deepak that Brahma was a psychopath and was now in Bhopal.
