BANGALORE: A software engineer died and his friend sustained injuries after his bike hit a stationed lorry in Airport (old) Traffic Police Station limits on Monday night.
The deceased have been identified as Suman (28), a resident of Marathhalli.
His friend Ashok (24) sustained severe injuries and was undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
They were working together in an IT company HP, located in Electronic City, both being natives of Guntur in Andhra Pradesh. The incident took place near Devarabeesanahalli as their bike hit the lorry. The Airport traffic police are investigating the case.
Boy dies
A seven-year-old boy who was playing in front of his house, died after a cab hit him while he was playing on the road in Byatarayanapura Traffic Police station limits on Monday night.
The boy has been identified as Sudeep, son of Basawaraj, a mason in the area.
Sudeep was a student of 1st standard in a government school in Mailasandra.
Sudeep was playing infront of his house, adjacent to the road, when he was knocked by a speeding car.
He died on the spot. Byatarayanapura traffic police are investigating the case to arrest the car driver, who has been absconding.
Woman raped
A 26-year-old housemaid was abducted and raped by two miscreants in Madiwala police station limits on Monday evening.
In her complaint to the police, the complainant alleged that when her husband was not at home, two men visited her house and took her to a nearby place and raped her.
Madiwala Police registered a case and are investigating the case. They arrested one accused Joker Manja and are searching for another accused named Shekhar.
Man commits suicide
A 22-year-old tabla player committed suicide by hanging himself in Kamakshipalya police station limits on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Prakash and according to police he took the extreme step as he was disappointed over his life.
Three held with boa
Kottanur police have arrested three for selling a sand boa.
The accused were identified as Shasikumar (30), Maruthi Reddy (31) and Gopi (45).
The police have also recovered cash of Rs 15,000 and a car from them. Another accused Manjunath is absconding.
