BANGALORE: In a bid to create awareness among youngsters about the Lok Sabha proceedings and political values, the Young Men's Christian Association is conducting a Model Lok Sabha programme on December 4.

Addressing the media, YMCA coordinator Arun Ravindra Kumar Karodi and advocate Harish, who has trained students for the model Lok Sabha programme, said more than 300 college students from across the state are expected to participate in the model Lok Sabha programme.

"In the present political situation and corruption in politics, it becomes important for us to highlight the real picture of the proceedings and educate the students about the role and responsibilities of our politicians," said Harish. A blind student from Surana college will conduct the model parliamentary proceedings by using braille scripts. He will represent the Model Lok Sabha programme as the President of India and address the media, said Harish.

"The programme would help us understand our political system and it will be a good experience for students participating," said Rakesh, a visuallychallenged student from Surana College.
