The fun-filled inter-collegiate Techno-cultural fest Avalanche 2013 jointly organised by the Department of Computer Science and Information Science Engineering concluded recently.
The two-day fest held over the weekend witnessed participation by over 45 colleges including the likes of Dayanand Sagar Institute of Technology, RVCE, BIT, MSRIT, New Horizon, Global, RNSIT, BNMIT, SJBIT, BMSIT to name a few.
More than 1,000 participants took part in the various competitions including Tech Guru, Best Manager, Coding and Debugging, Mock GRE and informal competitions like Hogathon (Eating competition), Roadies based on the realty show amongst others. Prizes worth `50,000 to `70,000 were distributed.
The Avalanche festival began in 2010 and was the product of collaboration of INIT and Genesis — two events organised by Computer Science and Information Science engineering departments.
The first day at Avalanche 2013 saw competitions like Tech Guru, Best Manager (stress Interview), Roadies (based on the reality show Roadies), Treasure Hunt, Hogathon, and gaming events like Counter Strike, Fifa’11, DOTA, etc amongst others.
The second day witnessed activities like mock GRE, CD painting and paper presentation.
B Pandurang who won the first place for coding and debugging at Avalanche 2013 followed by Suji from BMSCE at the second place.
Dilip from RVCE won the first place for tech Guru. The first place for online treasure hunt was won by Karthik and Utkarsh from BMSIT and Nitesh and Nakul from BMSCE at the second place.
Nikhila M and Bhanu from RNSIT won the first place for paper presentation followed by Sonia and Rashmee from BMSCE at the second place. Among the cultural events, Chethana B (MSRIT) won the first place for CD painting and Abhin and Rohit from RNSIT won the first place for entertainment quiz.
Sujay from JAIN CMS was declared the “Best manager” and Roadies was bagged by Surabhi Singh.
Avalanche 2013 ended on great note and was thoroughly enjoyed by students and faculty.
Students are eagerly looking forward to recreate the same magic next year with many more activities, more fun and more action.
