HYDERABAD: Ista brings Padharo Marhe Des – a royal Rajasthani food fest at its specialty Indian restaurant, Deori.

The festival is starting from July 10 and will go on till Jul 26, 2009 from 7:00 pm onwards.

Padharo Marhe Des is a unique collection of recipes from the royal region of Rajasthan that features very prominently on the food map of India. Marwari food is known to be primarily vegetarian and is prepared in ghee and other milk products.

Ista Hyderabad has also brought in some exciting non-vegetarian dishes from the Gharanas of the Rajputs of the region to cater to the liking of the meat lovers. Each of the dishes at the festival has been prepared keeping in mind the sentiments of the Marwari patrons (separate cooking sections for Veg and Non Veg food) with emphasis on authenticity of the tastes.

The festival will bring in the true feel of Rajasthan by adding in the essential entertainment element for the guests like traditional Rajasthani folk music, dance and a customary puppet show amid a colorful set up, adding to the flavor of the night. Some of the popular Marwari dishes are: dal, bati and churma, Lapsi, Mawa Kachori, Alwar ka Mawa, Malpuas, Rasogullas, Ghevar and the Junge Maas.

The guest will have a choice of both Ala Carte and a Traditional Thali service of the exotic food specialties from the Rajasthan region available at the restaurant.

The packages start at Rs 590. “We are delighted to bring the Rajasthani food festival to the twin cities this time and hope to give our guests a true experience of the food and culture of this royal state.

As there is a huge Marwari community in the city, we hope to revive their authentic taste and give them a local feel of their region,” Jaideep Anand, GM, Ista said.
