KOCHI: The CBI Special Court will pronounce its verdict in the sensational Wilson murder case on Wednesday.
The verdict will be pronounced by Judge P Sasidharan. On February 16, 2007, B W Jyothikumar allegedly stabbed his father Wilson to death at Kanjiramkulam in Thiruvananthapuram.
In the trials, special prosecutor K J Antony appeared for the CBI. The prosecution case is that Wilson of Kanjiramkulam was found dead with multiple stab injuries on his abdomen and neck.
The body was found on the compound of the house of J Wilfred. Following this, the Kanjiramkulam police registered a case, and Wilfred and his son Ronald were arrested on charges of murdering Wilson. Later, Wilson’s wife Sujatha filed a petition in the High Court, and the case was transferred to the CBI.
During the investigation, the CBI interrogated the eyewitnesses who had earlier submitted that they had seen Wilfred and his son stabbing Wilson.
However, they retracted their earlier statement and told CBI officials that they did not see Wilson being stabbed. Subsequently, after examining the material evidence, the CBI started suspecting the involvement of Jyothikumar in the case.
Jyothikumar had produced the blood-stained shirt worn by Wilson, when he was murdered, at the police station. However, there were no marks of stab injuries on the shirt, while the postmortem had revealed that Wilson died due to stab injuries.
Jyothikumar had also told the police that Wilson had mentioned the names of Wilfred and Ronald before succumbing to injuries. According to Jyothikumar, Wilfred had borrowed Rs One lakh from Wilson, and had been refusing to repay that amount.
However, defying Jyothikumar’s claims, the postmortem report stated that Wilson was stabbed on the throat, and he could not have spoken anything before death.
Subsequently, the CBI conducted a narco-analysis and polygraph test on Wilfred and Ronald, in which their involvement in the case could not be established.
Later, the CBI conducted a polygraph test on Jyothikumar, in which his response was found to be deceptive. Following this, a brain mapping test and narco-analysis were conducted on him.
In the narco-analysis test, it was found that Jyothikumar stabbed his father and put the body near the house of Wilfred to mislead the police.
Similarly, he produced a shirt of Wilson which he was not wearing at the time of death. On April 14, 2007, the CBI arrested Jyothikumar, and later a CBI court acquitted Wilfred and Ronald.
