THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Non-Resident Indians (Keralites) Commission has been formed with Justice (Retd) Bhavadasan as its chairman. The Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to nominate Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, ‘Daily Tribune’ chief editor Soman Baby, P M A Salam and K Bhagavat Singh as members. “Kerala is the second state to have passed a piece of legislation for forming such a commission,” NORKA Minister K C Joseph said. The Kerala Assembly had enacted the Non-Resident Indians (Keralites) Commission Bill 2015 in January this year. The commission members will have a three-year tenure. The Additional Secretary (NORKA) will hold additional charge of commission secretary.
