Long-time sweethearts, Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia and restaurateur Farhan Azmi, got married on Sunday in a largely private ceremony at Azmi’s restaurant Koyla at Apollo Bunder. Takia looked as pretty as a porcelain doll in a beige studded sari. Azmi complimented her well in an ivory pin-tuck sherwani and churidar. The evening began early at 8.30 pm as guests walked in wearing traditional finery. The nikah was followed by a sumptuous spread of Continental food by Azmi’s Basilico and Moghlai by Delhi Durbar. Three hours later, the couple was seen leaving the premises for the Azmi residence next door. The wedding, which was originally scheduled to take place on the Christmas Eve, was postponed due to the 26/11 attacks in the city. The reception on Monday night, at the East Lawns of the CCI Club, was a grand affair.
