BANGALORE:  Anticipating legal action to stay the release of his latest film ‘Vishnuvardhana’, senior Kannada film actor, producer and director Dwarakish  filed a caveat in the High Court on Wednesday.

The film starring Sudeep is slated for release this week across the state.

The title of the film had created controversy even before it went on floors as Bharathi, wife of actor late Vishnuvardhan, had raised objections alleging that the producer had named it after her husband for commercial purposes.

However, Dwarakish had then clarified that the film was in no way connected with the actor’s life. Meanwhile, it is also said that the producer had agreed to screen the movie before a committee comprising Vishnuvardhan’s family members prior to its release, but reportedly has not done it.

Thus, to ensure the release of the film without any legal hurdles, the producer filed the caveat.
