KFCC (Karnataka Film Chmaber of Commerce) has finally made their decision on the release of Upendra starrer 'Katari Veera Surasundarangi' and 'God Father'. While they have okayed the release of Munirathna's Katari Veera.. for May 10, they have requested K Manju to produce the censor certificate before clearing a release date.

The censor board head, Nagaraj, who is currently on leave and will take charge only on May 7. And according to sources, he already has a few films lined-up for clearance, which will be viewed on first-come first-served basis. Now the question is when will the censor watch God Father?

K Manju, Producer of God Father, said, “ I am happy with the Chamber's decision. They have requested me to get the film censored by May 8. I am also aware that Nagaraj is on leave. I have to produce the censor certificate, before the release of the film. So, I have time till May 10. I am planning to hold the audio release on May 3 and I'll try my best to bring the music director of my film, AR Rahman, to the city. I'm certain that the film will be released on May 11.”

However, Munirathna had this to say about his film: “Finally, we have come to a conclusion. I have finalised the release date of my film Katari Veera... It will hit the screens on May 10. I am ok with the censor board giving a U/A certificate.” The producer further added, “According to the current rules, U/A certificate is given to a movie that has a smoking scene or scenes depicting explicit violence. A couple of ladies at the censor board watched the film and they recommended that the film be cleared without any cut. There is no doubt that my film is for family and is definitely watchable by children.”
