Debut director Naresh Kumar HN has tasted success with First Rank Raju. He says that the story succeeded because it simply followed common sense. The romantic comedy entertainer written by Naresh Kumar is produced by Manjunath VK. The film's music is scored by Kiran Ravindranath.

Gurunandan, Apoorva essay the lead roles and Chandru, Tanishka Kapoor and Ananth Nag are seen in important roles.

Among the series of Kannada films released over the last few weeks, audience has given a thumbs up to this film. "The film has clicked mainly because of the strong message with a blend of comedy. Every family can relate to this film because every house will have a person like First Rank Raju. People who have watched the film have decided to give some freedom to their children when it comes to studies," he says.

While it has become a must-watch among students, the latest buzz is that the film is being considered for remakes in other languages. Naresh confirms and says, "Yes. Filmmaker

Allari Naresh has shown interest in making this film in Telugu while a couple of producers in Tamil want to buy the rights to remake it in their language. But, as of now, we are enjoying the success and the response we are receiving from the audience. Our producers are yet to decide about selling the rights," says Naresh.

Cashing in on the success, Naresh has planned to helm part 2. "I will definitely work on the script but it will not be anytime soon. This time it was about a rank holder. I want to continue from where this films ends, when Raju says, 'I don't want to work I want to become a Minister.' My part 2 will explore the political system. I want to try a new subject."
