Anup Bhandari is releasing a special teaser of Rajaratha, on his brother Nirup Bhandari's birthday, who is also acting in the film.
The film, which also features Avantika Shetty and Ravi Shankar, has introduced a special character — a banana. The fruit will appear as Mr Pachbale, an important character in the film.
Nirup does not want to reveal much about Mr Pachbale but says, "This particular fruit has been used in various films, starting with Charlie Chaplin movies." For example, in many of the Chaplin movies, you often see him slipping on a peel. "The idea of including this character came during the making of the movie and I found it interesting," says Nirup. "Besides the fruit, the colour yellow is significant in our film."
This is a second film from the two brothers, who started with Rangitaranga, a film that completed its anniversary. Nirup, who mostly played a sober character in Rangitaranga, will be seen as an excitable person in his second film, which is a romantic comedy.
"Rajaratha has completed nine days of shoot, during which we've managed to complete two songs and a few difficult scenes.
The next schedule is planned for August 26," says Nirup.
The film produced by Ajay Reddy, Anju Vallabh, Vishu Dakkapagari and Sathish Sastry is made under the Jolly Hits' banner. Rajarath has William David as its cinematographer and Anup himself scoring music for the film.
