The extravagant wedding of former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy’s daughter Brahmani became the talk of town. A similar buzz is now on with the possibility of his son Kireeti Reddy entering the film industry. It won’t be anytime soon but, a family friend says, this is his father’s wish.
“Nineteen years ago, Janardhan Reddy had been to Chennai to become a filmmaker or an actor,” says our source. “He trained in acting for three months, met Telugu film director Kodandarami Reddy and worked under him as an assistant for six months. But that faded into the background when he returned to Ballari and started his business and got busy with politics. He talked about this at the family gatherings during the wedding,” he says.
For the past 12 years, Kireeti has been learning dance and is now getting trained in horse riding, for which he travels to Hyderabad. He is excellent in bike racing and does a lot of wheelies, says the source. In fact, Kireeti usually likes to perform at big shows conducted in Ballari and is also a good cricketer. “In fact, at Brahmani’s Sangeet, Kireeti did two to three dances. Apparently, his Micheal Jackson act was much appreciated and applauded. The stage was actually set for him,” says the source.
Kireeti is now in his second year pre-university course but he is “very sure” about his career in films. “But before that, Kireeti will be learning the art of filmmaking and his father is making all the arrangements for that,” says the source. We hear that Janardhan Reddy plans to start a production house and will launch Saikumar’s son Aadi in Kannada under his banner and the movie’s muhurat has been planned for Sankranti. “The former Minister plans to take up 2 to 3 projects in a gap of eight months. Meanwhile, he wants Kireeti to learn the process,” says the source. But he adds that Kireeti’s entry into silver screen will be only after he completes his degree.
