While expectations from his next film, Poraali, are already soaring high here, the multi-faceted Sasikumar seems to be having a good time in God’s own country. No, he is not on a break, but he is busy shooting for the final schedule of his first Malayalam movie, Masters. He plays a journalist in the film, while actor Prithiviraj plays another prominent role.
“I have already finished shooting for 20 days and only 15 more days are left," says the producer-turned director-turned actor. And he says he doesn’t find the two industries to be very different from each other.
“Many of the technicians are from Tamil Nadu. Prithiviraj knows Tamil well and director Johny Antony also speaks to me in Tamil. But I’m speaking in Malayalam with all of them to learn the language. Only when I stand in front of the camera, I’m a little conscious that it’s a Malayalam movie,” says Sasikumar. However, he is determined to dub in his own voice in the movie. “I’m learning the right way of pronouncing words. Even if the director and others are okay with the idea of me dubbing to my character, I should satisfy myself that I’ve done a flawless job," says Sasikumar. He says Masters might release by the end of December or in the beginning of January. Commenting on the release date of Poraali, he says, “Poraali will release on December 2 and, currently, work on the background score is on in full swing.”
