The much-awaited Bengali film Antaheen, directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, has more reason to emerge as a box office hit and the first one is undoubtedly music. Presented by Saregama, the music is soothing and sure to touch anyone’s heart. Shantanu Moitra's compositions, a first for Bangla cinema, is a standout feature in Antaheen with six tracks penned by Anindya Chattopadhyay and Chandril Bhattacharya and sung by Shreekanto Acharya, Antara Chowdhury, Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan, Babul Supriyo and Anindyo.

Speaking about the music, Shantanu says, "I will never forget the experience of making these songs. It was vintage stuff, good food, music, debates, arguments and lots of blueberry cheesecake. The experience of working together as one happy family is what I treasure most. The music of Antaheen captures the collective energy of the entire team and spirit of the film."

The music director, playback singers Shreya and Shaan, and director were present for an interactive session organised by Saregama through video conferencing.

The session was more musical as Shantanu played the music then and there and Shreya enthralled everyone by singing tracks from the film.

"In many ways I couldn't have asked for a better film for my debut where you have a virtual galaxy of stars both on and off camera, It's my honour to have been able to share the same celluloid space as my childhood divas Sharmila Tagore and Aparna Sen, my favourite actor Rahul Bose, the renowned cinematographer Avik Mukhopadhyay and editor Arghyakamal and the finest recording engineer I know, Biswadeep Chatterjee," said Shantanu.

"It's love story of Aparna Sen and her husband and we wanted to explore that love. The music is like punctuations in the film and it's blended into the story," said Aniruddha.

Speaking about the film, Shantanu said the picturisation of the songs was excellent and beyond his visualisation. "Five musical instruments have been used for all the songs except the one sung by Shaan," said Shantanu, who loves Illayaraja hits in Kollywood.
