Director Sami picks up another controversial theme for his new film 'Sindhu Samaveli' with newcomers in the lead roles.

CHENNAI: Known for handling unusual themes in his earlier films - 'Uyir' and 'Mirugam' - director Sami, this time too, has something unusual for the audiences.

When the trailer and two songs from the movie, 'Sindhu Samaveli' were screened at the audio launch held at the Sathyam Theatres, the chief guests — actor Aadhi, directors and actors Parthepan, Cheran, Bhagyaraj and Vikraman, said they were eagerly waiting for the release of the film.

Sami said, “The film deals with love and lust. It is based on a Russian novel, First Love.”

Produced by Michael Rayappan of Nadodigal fame, Sundhar C Babu has composed the music. The film stars Harish, Anakha and Ghajini in the lead roles. Anakha in her red dress was cynosure of all eyes at the launch. Actors Monica, Jithan Ramesh and lyricist Na Muthukumar were among others who walked on the red carpet.
