THE much awaited Thoonga Nagaram is ready for its release.

While the songs of the film are already topping the charts, music director, Sundar C Babu is awaiting for the response of the background score. Being his 17th film, Sundar has travelled to Czech Republic to compose the background score and song mixing for this film.

Talking about his experience while recording at the Sono Records Studio at the Czech Republic, Sundar C Babu says, “It was an amazing experience to record a live symphony orchestra with 55 people. Though we spent only two days for recording the background score, it took us two months to prepare the notations for every scene. The notes should be given to the orchestra two weeks prior to the recording as they need to get an idea before playing the instruments.” Together with the film director Gaurav, Sundar C Babu went to Czech Republic for the music composition. “When you listen to the background score, you can make out the difference of the symphony orchestra. It will be a different experience for the music lovers,” informs Sundar C Babu, who made his debut in Chithiram Pesudhadi.

Sundar C Babu also adds, “The title song Thoonga Nagaram has been sung by Palakkad Sriram, and it’s about the Temple city and its surroundings.

The song has been shot at the Chithirai Thiruvizha held in Madurai and so it will be a visual treat to the audience.

The duet song Koorana Paarvaikal sung by Chinmayee and Hariharan has already become a hit.” While Thoonga Nagaram is releasing on February 4, Sundar C Babu’s another film Aadupuli, a family entertainer, is releasing on February 18.

“Aadupuli is just a contrast to Thoonga Nagaram. The former is more commercial,” he says.

The music director wants to score music for different scripts and doesn’t want to stick to the similar kind of movies. “I spend a lot of time to select my script and so I choose to compose music only for two films in a year. As a music director I want to try different genres and I should enjoy my work,” concludes the director, who is now busy with two projects — Vellore Mavattam and Markandeyan.
