After the lackluster release ‘Mudhal Idam’, Vidharth, of ‘Mynaa’ fame, is now awaiting the release of his upcoming film, ‘Kollaikaran’, directed by debutant director TamilSelvan.

Produced by Prasad Cine Arts, Sanchitha Shetty, another debutant actress from Bangalore plays the female lead. The music is scored by Jogan. The film was shot in 75 days in the scenic locales of Athur and Kumbakonam. It was also informed that a market setup worth 10 lakh was erected for a song at Athur for this film.

Vidharth, who has been playing roles in a series of films with similar themes, essays the role of a guy who commits petty crimes. But one day, when he realises his erroneous ways, his past catches up with him, leading to the twist in the story.

According to the director, the film was shot during the rainy season in 15 days, but fortunately the rain was not captured in a single frame. Also to be noted is that all the songs in this film are shot in the locales of Kumbakonam and Athur and the crew hasn’t gone to any foreign locations. The other members of the cast in the film include Ravi Shankar, Mohan Vaidya, Senthil, Baby Varsha and Das. Vairamuthu has penned the lyrics for the songs in this film.

Cinematographer Rathnavel’s assistant Yuvaraj has cranked the camera for this film.
