Put all rumours to rest. Thala Ajith will not be playing a Sri Lankan refuee in his forthcoming flick ‘Billa II’, say sources in the know, clarifying that the ‘Mankatha’-star will be reprising the role of a Tamilian only born in Sri Lanka in the movie, and not a Lankan Tamil.

Even before the shooting of ‘Billa II’ began, the film’s outline was revealed – ‘Billa II’ will be a prequel to ‘Billa’ and will unravel the life of David (Ajith), a commoner who goes to become one of the most dreaded dons in the world. However, what’s latest is that Ajith’s role, which was kept secret all this while has now been revealed.

Thala will play the role of a Tamilian only born in Sri Lanka, and not a Lankan refugee as claimed by certain sections of the media. The prequel’s director Chakri Toleti was not available for confirmation though.

The shoot of the film is nearly complete and post-production work has been going on in full swing. Music for the film has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. ‘Billa II’ was earlier scheduled to release on Ajith’s birthday (May 1). However, with delay in post-production, it remains to be seen if the film will meet the May Day mark.

This action entertainer has Ajith performing some daredevil stunts and is one of the most awaited projects after his blockbuster ‘Mankatha’.
