The death of actor Sai Prashanth left both the Tamil television and film industries shocked, even as a letter, claimed to be his suicide note, began doing the rounds on social media.
Friends and family members of the actor have been dumbstruck by the sudden turn of events, with many wondering what could have caused the actor to take the extreme step.

It may be recalled that actor Sai Prashanth was found dead at his residence in Valasarawakkam in Chennai on Sunday night. The actor had allegedly consumed drinks laced with poison. Police suspect depression to be the cause of the suicide.Talking to Express, actress Radhika Sarathkumar, who could be called one of the mentors of the upcoming, promising actor, said, " I am shocked. I am shooting in Palani at the moment and they called me to tell me the news. I was very disturbed on hearing it as he is very close to the entire unit at Radaan. He would always be there at my office. Even if I am busy, he would wait and see me. He was such a talented boy."
The actress further said, "It's very disturbing to see young people take the easy way out. Today's young generation cannot handle disappointment of any kind. He had put on weight and I gave him a shelling saying that I would not give him the next project unless he lost weight. When he visited me recently, he had lost weight and I had appreciated him. "
The actor also tweeted, "So shocked and saddened to hear of actor Sai Prashant's death.Wht is it about life that u give up at this age?? Sad
Just finished work, but mind is disturbed. This young boy whom we looked out for more, always spoke to him and how can he give up!!???"
Actor Shanthnoo too took to Twitter to register his anguish on hearing the news of the actor's death."Reason for sudden&early deaths tday is purely #StressFactor Though I don't know #SaiPrashant well,this is not d way bud," the actor tweeted.
