Speaking at the event, the actor said that for the first time in his career, he went to a director (Mohan Raja), and expressed interest in teaming up, after being so impressed with Thani Oruvan. Sivakarthikeyan also said that Velaikkaran has changed him as a person. “I have decided not to endorse brands anymore. I don’t want to send out wrong messages to people. This working experience has made me feel more responsible as an actor,” he said.

On sharing screen space with Fahadh Faasil, he called the Malayalam actor an ‘international actor’, and added, “It’s a special role, and a special film for him.” Sivakarthikeyan also thanked Anirudh for being instrumental in his success.
