Dinesh Babu Selvaraj, who worked as an assistant to Mani Ratnam from Alaipayuthey to Kadal, has turned director with Naalu Peruku Nalladhuna Edhuvum Thappilla, which is releasing this week. About the fi lm, which was initially titled Boomerang, he says, “It’s a crime thriller which revolves around the lives of four men who want to become rich without any hard work.” Selvaraj says that Mani Ratnam watched the fi lm and liked it a lot.
“In fact, he provided us with a few suggestions, and we have reshot those portions. When I told him that I was planning to have the famous Nayakan dialogue as my title, he smiled. That itself is a great success,” he adds. The crew shot the fi lm in Chennai for about 20 days. “We rehearsed for four months, and so, we were able to fi nish the shooting as planned.” Naalu Peruku Nalladhuna Edhuvum Thappilla that stars many newcomers, has Karthik playing the lead.
