Not many newbie actresses get a chance to work with big stars of the film industry one after another. But for Komal Jha, who is still trying to establish herself in Telugu industry, has got the rare opportunity to work opposite Varun Sandesh in Priyathama Neevchata Kusalama and opposite Nandamuri Taraka Ratna, the grand son of N T Rama Rao in Eduru Leni Alexander.
"I just completed shooting for Priyathama, which is all set to release on February 14 this year. I can't say that this will be my debut because I started with another Telugu movie titled Kalachakram, though it is yet to be released," said Komal, who is quite excited to be working with Taraka Ratna, who is also known as Junior NTR of Tollywood. "I replaced another heroine for the film as they thought I suited the role. I have completed my first schedule for the film and will start shooting again from January 18," she said.
Komal, who started with a Malayalam film, 24 hours also stepped into Sandalwood with Nimbehulli which according to her was a bad move. "I had a bitter experience with Nimbehulli director, Hemanth Hegde. Though I was thrilled that the film was produced by well known director Subhash Ghai under Mukta Arts banner, I was disappointed with the director. For me he was more like a serial artiste who did not have thorough knowledge of direction. It seemed as though he was longing to be a hero on big screen. We started shooting for Nimbehulli in November 2011. It's 2013 and we still have no idea when the movie will get completed and when he plans to release. Even Anupam Kher was supposed to be debuting in Kannada with this film, which is now hanging," said Komal, adding, "All that he did on the sets was drop names and bad mouth about other actors. Though he has a family, he never respected his co-stars. I respect him as a human being but not as a film director.”
But the actress has no qualms about being in Bangalore because she did her Civil Engineering here.
"They say college days are the best days for any youngster and I enjoyed every moment studying at Ramaiah College through which I got a job in Dubai. There I started modelling and that's how I plunged into tinsel town," Komal revealed.
After what the actress went through, will Komal think twice about being part of another Kannada film? "One director cannot certify the whole industry. Of course, initial bitterness will make you think twice to take the next step. But having spent some years in Bangalore, I know about stars like Puneeth Rajkumar, Sudeep and Darshan. I will surely take up a project provided I learn about the people with whom I will be working. As of now, I would want to give more time in Telugu and try my luck in Tamil," she concluded.
