MUMBAI: Despite the court verdict, the family of Nurullah Mahboob Sharif is still struggling due to the actions of the Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Nurullah was killed in the wee hours of September 28, 2002 by Salman’s SUV in Bandra Mumbai.

Firoz Shaikh, Nurullah’s son had to stop his education and began working along with his mother to support his family. Firoz is now 25 years old and has a family of his own, feels the grief of Salman’s parents and said “I forgive him, but he has ruined our lives” to a Delhi-based newspaper.

Firoz feels that it was an unfortunate incident for both Salman and his father and admits that it wasn’t the actor’s intent.

However, Firoz’s mother Begum Jahan is not so forgiving since it took the court 12 years to pronounce the verdict and said that convicting him will set an example.

Begum also reminisced the day after the incident how his security staff chased her out when she visited his residence. She also claims that the government promised to give her Rs 10 Lakh and she is still waiting for the compensation.
