Woman gang-raped at her house in Haryana's Fatehabad

As per the complaint of the victim, the two accused barged into her house and raped her yesterday while she was alone.

CHANDIGARH: Haryana’s shame continues. A 20-year-old woman was gang-raped by two youths in Bothan Kalan village of Fatehabad on Wednesday night.

Police said two youths from the same village allegedly forced their way into the house when the victim was alone  and raped her. The woman’s family members had gone to attend a prayer meeting for her deceased maternal grandfather.

When the family returned on Wednesday night, the victim narrated the ordeal. A case of gang rape, house tresspass and criminal intimidation was registered at the women’s police station in Fatehabad. The cops are on a hunt for the accused.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leaders, including former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, former Union minister and Rajya Sabha Member Kumari Selja, state Congress Legislative Party leader Kiran Choudhry and several sitting and former MLAs met Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum demanding President’s rule in the state.

The memorandum stated that there were reports of gangs of criminals from Uttar Pradesh having shifted their operations to Haryana.
