UDAIPUR: A day after BJP MP from Rajasmand and member of the Jaipur royal family, Diya Kumari, claimed to be a descendant of Lord Ram’s son Kush, the royal family of Udaipur gave a  new twist to the story by claiming to be the descendants of Lord Ram’s other son, Luv.

The family stated that they are from the lineage of Lord Ram’s son Luv who had settled in Lav-kot, modern-day Lahore and they are the descendants of Luv who eventually came to Ahaad or Mewar where the Sisodia Empire was established.

“It is historically proven that my family are direct descendants of Shree Ram. We do not wish to stake any claim on Ram Janma Bhumi but believe that  Shree Ram Temple must be built at Ram Janma Bhumi in Ayodhya,” Arvind  Singh Mewar of the erstwhile royal family tweeted.

Mahendra Singh Mewar, another member of the royal family said, “Luv’s 76 generations’ history is recorded in Mewar, while the history of the royal family is even older.

The Supreme Court can directly contact us and all the evidence and documents will be produced in the court following proper legal procedure.”

In the ongoing Ayodhya dispute, the Supreme Court had asked Ram Lalla’s lawyer on August 9 whether any descendant of Lord Ram were in Ayodhya or in the world.

Following this, the Jaipur royal family on Saturday had claimed that they are the descendants of the famous Kachhwaha/Kushwaha dynasty in the name of Kush, the elder son of Lord  Ram by presenting documents.
