India has been reporting the highest single-day caseload in the world every day since August 7 and is the third-most affected country after the US and Brazil.

With the highest daily jump of 77,266 Covid-19 infections on August 28, India recorded the total count of 33,87,500 cases, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.

As of August 28, India has 7,42,023 active cases, 25,83,948 cured/discharged/migrated & 61,529 deaths, including 1,057 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The recovery rate was recorded at 76.28%, while the Covis-19 case fatality rate has further declined to 1.82%.
