Travelling with family and friends is always fun. But it is not always possible. So why not travel solo? We believe, "I can't probably travel alone," is everyone's thought. Travel influencer Val Cortez shares a few points that you should know before stuffing your backpack for a solo trip.

Val has been wandering around the world and is still exploring many countries. Here's what she says...

1. Choose the right destination

Val suggests that while selecting the destination, you would want to choose a location that has the following: a lower language barrier, easy navigation, friendly locals, a sense of safety, and good tourism infrastructure. Choosing the destination wisely will make your solo trip memorable.

2. Make reservations

"You should make bookings for lodging, transportation, and other services. This ensures a quick and smooth process when you start your trip. This will entitle you to get into the elation of solo travel without any added stress," says Val.

3. Share your travel plans with family

Enlisting the support of family, friends, and acquaintances is essential while planning your solo trip, as they can manage the things you couldn't. So, talking to your family and friends before leaving on a trip is an ideal way to save yourself from any hassles.

4. Carry only valuables

Don’t forget to carry items that are necessary, like your phone, ID proof, credit cards, passport, etc. Don't let these things go out of your sight. You don't want to spend your trip visiting the embassy, police station, and filing a complaint for your stolen valuables.

Val Cortez is famous for her travel stories and wanderlust. She has been travelling for years and has been to places like Sweden, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Argentina, Spain, Paris, Turkey, Malaysia, etc.
