The anatomy of alcohol

Ajay Kumar

Hard alcoholic beverages have a much smaller serving size and do not always have carbohydrates. However,  it does not mean they do not have nutritional impact. Ethanol (alcohol) is metabolised similar to fat (7-9 cal per gram). Thus the calorie content of these beverages is often much higher due to higher alcohol content.
