NEW DELHI: Responding to the revelation by Hafiz Saeed that Lashkar-e-Taiba had fanned the flames of the unrest in Kashmir in the aftermath of Burhan Wani’s death, Indian security establishment sources stated that Saeed’s confession in the form of audio-video evidence exposes the Pakistani state actor’s link with terror outfits and constitutes adequate proof for his arrest and prosecution.
“Pakistan must find out how many people Saeed had recruited from Faisalabad for the terror activities in Kashmir. He said it openly and now Pakistani agencies need to break him,” sources said, adding that the Pakistan Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) probing the 26/11 Mumbai attacks has not investigated the role of Hafiz Saeed, who not only planned the Mumbai attack but was also monitoring the progress of the training of terrorists. There have also been reports that Hafiz Saeed is managing the activities of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Afghanistan through his deep terror networks and assets. According to foreign media reports, Afghan military officials had told their Pakistani counterparts during a meeting earlier this week that Saeed was managing the activities of the Islamic State in Afghanistan.
