NEW DELHI: A runaway 16-year-old boy used a pizza cutter to slit the throats of his mother and 11-year-old sister and then hammered them to death with a cricket bat just to make sure, the Greater Noida police said on Saturday.
The crime was committed on Monday and the teenager was absconding. The boy, an avid player of violent video games, was arrested near Varanasi by Noida Police on Friday night. The boy’s father was away in Surat,t.
The boy fled with Rs 2 lakh after the crime, said the police. “He then went to Old Delhi railway station from where he took a train to Jammu. However, he got off the train at Ludhiana and reached Mughalsarai from there” said SSP Gautam Budh Nagar Love Kumar.
“His mother had scolded him earlier for his poor academic performance and his father had confiscated his phone. Enraged, the boy killed his mother and sister,” said Kumar.
