NEW DELHI: In a bid to avert a possible break up with party leader Kumar Vishwas, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday appointed him as the in-charge of political affairs of Rajasthan and suspended MLA Amanatullah Khan, who had earlier attacked Vishwas.

In a joint effort to indicate that all is well in the party and after late night drama and marathon meeting of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) between Kejriwal, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, and party leaders Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh and Atishi Marlena, Vishwas said the process of dialogue to analyse the reasons for the Punjab and Delhi poll losses are being discussed, which is all he wanted.

The poet-politician had threatened to quit the party due to the allegations heaped on him by Khan earlier.
“There should not be any confusion within or outside the party that this is a fight of supremacy in the party. Whenever there is a requirement of suggestions and talks we will sit and discuss like this. We needed talks, which is happening. I would like to make it clear that no hurdle will come in the movement that we started,” said Vishwas.

Sisodia further said that Khan has been suspended for his act from the party and that a committee has been set up which will further investigate the matter and take disciplinary action against him if required.
“The PAC has taken the decision to suspend Amanatullah Khan and investigate the facts if any about what he said.  Further, Vishwas will be Rajasthan’s party in-charge as the State goes to polls next year,” Sisodia said.

The cracks might be too wide by now to fill up, as both Vishwas and Sisodia disagreed with each other in their statements.

While Vishwas retorted to the earlier jab of Sisodia and said that “this is not a personal fight”, Sisodia said the “committee will examine if there are any facts in what Khan said” on Vishwas being a BJP agent and attempting a coup by hijacking MLAs of the party.
