SRINAGAR: J&K Governor NN Vohra on Thursday convened an All Party Meeting (APM) on Friday to discuss the prevailing security and political situation.
An official of Rajbhavan said Vohra has written to heads of regional and national political parties to seek their participation in the APM that would be would be held at Raj Bhavan or SKICC in Srinagar at 4.30 pm.
The meeting has been called by Vohra a day after taking charge of the State.
During the APM, the NC, Congress and other parties are expected to demand immediate dissolution of Legislative Assembly and holding of the State Assembly elections, while the erstwhile alliance partners PDP and BJP may pitch for the continuation of Governor’s role for some months before taking a call on elections.
On Thursday, Vohra also held extensive discussions with the Chief Secretary and reviewed all major matters, which were pending approval of CM and the Cabinet, when the change of government took place.
“Governor decided important matters, including postings and transfers. As regards matters which are to be considered and decided by the Cabinet, he approved the establishment of State Administrative Council and asked chief secretary to instruct the administrative secretaries to finalise, within next three days, all cases which require to be submitted to Council,” a Raj Bhavan spokesman said.
