MUMBAI: Call Detail Records (CDR) retrieved from multiple phones belonging to self-styled Godman and fraud astrologer Ashok Kharat revealed that he was in touch with politicians, including Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP Minister Chandrakant Patil, former State Women Commission's chairperson Rupali Chakankar, and many others.

Ashok Kharat has been in police custody for sexually exploiting more than 150 women followers. The state government-appointed special investigation team has retrieved 200 videos from Ashok Kharat's laptops and mobiles.

The CDR data also revealed that Rupali Chakankar called Kharat 177 times last year. The details also show that Rupali Chakankar has made the most calls after Ashok Kharat's daughter, Triptbala Kharat.

Social activist Damania claimed that Ashok Kharat and Rupali Chakankar spoke for a total of 33,727 seconds.

“If we want to put this in minutes, Rupali Chakankar and Ashok Kharat communicated with each other for a total of 9 hours and 36 minutes in the last year. Rupali Chakankar's sister has called Ashok Kharat a total of 236 times,” Damania claims.

“In the last year, DCM Eknath Shinde had made 17 phone calls to fraud Godman Ashok Kharat. Out of these, 10 calls were incoming, and seven were outgoing. The longest call between Kharat and Shinde was 21 minutes long,” Damania claimed.

The CDR also revealed former Shiv Sena minister Deepak Kesarkar, NCP state president Sunil Tatkare and BJP minister Ashish Shelar have also contacted Ashok Kharat.

She further added that BJP minister Chandrakant Patil and NCP state president Sunil Tatkare both contacted the accused Ashok Kharat eight times.

Damania revealed the details through her social media account.

The ministers and leaders whose names surfaced are yet to comment. However, the photos of these leaders with fraud Godman have gone viral on social media.
