Yet Another Institute to Come up at Vijayawada

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh government has given its nod for setting up State Institute of Animal Disease Investigation & Research (SIADIR) at Vijayawada.

Since there is no institution like Veterinary Biological Research Institute (VBRI) for bacterial & viral vaccine for bovine, sheep and goat in the residual state, the government has decided to set up a state-level disease investigation institute in Vijayawada to cater to the vaccine needs of the livestock and poultry in the state.

The institute will also produce various biologicals for controlling the livestock and poultry diseases by conducting prophylactic vaccinations. It will undertake epidemiological studies of animal diseases in the state and introduce new techniques for developing vaccines and diagnostic aid.
