I-T raids on the residence of Tamil Nadu chief secretary's relatives

The raids were conducted since 7 am this morning, in connection with the nation-wide raids conducted on the properties of Rammohana Rao in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

CHITTOOR: Income Tax authorities raided the residence of DK Badrinarayana, relative of Tamil Nadu chief secretary Rammohana Rao, at Chittoor on Wednesday.

The raids began at 7 AM this morning, in connection with the nation-wide raids post demonitisation. Raids were conducted on the properties of Rammohana Rao in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The quantum of properties seized, is yet to be revealed by the I-T sleuths who are verifying all the documents and preparing the indent of the properties, gold and other assets.

Badrinarayana is also brother of TTD former chairman late DK Adikeshavulu Naidu. He is reportedly into various businesses including mining and real estate. He also had connections with former TTD board member Sekhar Reddy who was a recent target of the I-T department.

Rammohana Rao who is currently working as chief secretary of Tamil Nadu, belongs to Prakasam district and his son had recently married Badrinarayana’s daughter.
