Depressed over failure in Intermediate examination, two students end life in Andhra Pradesh

VISAKHAPATNAM: Depressed over failure in Intermediate examination, two students have ended their lives in the district. The deceased have been identified as S Suresh Kumar, the senior Intermediate student and a resident of Sivalayam street at Chodavaram and P Vijay, a student of MPC stream of a private junior college and resident of Kothaveedhi in Narsipatnam.

According to Chodavaram sub-inspector SA Munaf, Suresh in the wee hours of Saturday locked himself in his room and committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan. The student had failed in three subjects in the Intermediate exams, the results of which were declared on Friday. S u re s h ’s mother works in Visakhapatnam, while he stays in his relatives’ house at Chodavaram. Police have registered a case. Though Vijay’s suicide reportedly happened on Thursday, it came to light on Saturday.

The body of the student, who had gone missing since Thursday, was found hanging from a tree on Saturday. The police said that Vijay had informed his parents that he was going to town to check his results on April 12 and he didn’t return home. Vijay’s parents came to know that their son failed in a subject and later searched for Vijay. Their search ended on Saturday when Vijay was found dead.
