BELLARY: The last rites of former minister and scion of Sandur royal family M Y Ghorpade, who died in Bangalore on Saturday, would be performed in Sandur on Monday. The body of the former leader was brought to Sandur on Sunday afternoon and  has been kept at Shivapur Palace, for public to pay their last respects. The body reached Sandur at around 1:30 am and was kept for public viewing.

Relative of Ghorpade family and Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chauhan, who came from Mumbai along with his family, paid last respects to the leader.

Former health minister B Sreeramulu, MLC K C Kondiah, Bellary MP J Shanta, Raichur MP Sanna Fakkirappa, Rajya Sabha Member Anil Lad, MLAs Santosh Lad, Nemiraj Naik, Chandra Naik, E Tukaram, B Nagendra also paid their last respects to the departed leader, on Sunday.
