PATHANAMTHITTA: Thousands of devotees witnessed the `kettukazhcha’, the display of cattle-pairs, horse and `theru’ built on wooden frame covered with paddy-hay and coloured cotton cloth, in connection with the Thiruvathira festival at Pandalam Sree Mahadeva temple on Friday.

   All the `karas’ under the Mahadeva Temple Devaswom participated in the `kettukazhcha’ by exhibiting their art pieces on the temple premises at 5 pm.

   Ashtadravya Ganapathi homam and Kalabhabhishekam were the special rituals conducted as part of the festival.  Procession carrying the Thidambu of Sree Mahadeva on a caparisoned elephant and the special nadaswarm recital were the other attractions in the evening.  Music concert, dance and orchestra were the cultural programmes held.
